If you love the old school vibe paired with delicious local flavour, this is a great place for you. We arrived at 8.15am and it was not crowded. Quiet and comfortable, I was able to get some work done with the relaxed ambiance. Would love to come back again.

Padi Kopitiam Jalan Trus is one of my well-loved spots for local Nanyang cuisine. It’s a great place to start your day, or to hang out and chill over a cup of kopi. The place will usually be crowded in the morning. Can visit later in the evening if you desire more peace and quiet. The vegetarian main dishes selection were slightly limited, but reasonably priced and tasted great! The thick kaya butter toasts were a delight too! Definitely better than their nearby competitors. Also, their cheerful and helpful staff will make your dining experience even more enjoyable. This place is definitely worth checking out!

I ordered delivery without realizing the restaurant was right next to where I was staying, nor did I know it was a well-known spot with long wait times. That said, the value, taste, and portions made up for it. The fried chicken was well-marinated in turmeric and perfectly fried without being overdone. The kaya butter toast was fluffy, with a generous amount of butter, while the kaya itself had a distinct gula melaka sweetness, which was too strong for my taste, but a hit with everyone else. The weakest link for me was the goreng pisang. It was decent but no better than what you’d find at a good roadside stall. Still, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I would recommend it if you don’t mind the wait.

Great spot near my place with plenty of seat and food options! Tried the laksa and Ipoh hor fun—both satisfying, though the laksa isn’t quite Sarawak-level. Portions are generous, and the curry puff was a delightful surprise. The staffs are friendly and polite. The place is clean and quiet during non peak hours. I enjoyed my meal here. The food prices are slightly high but still affordable. Recommended if you are craving for comfort food!
